Dunshalt in Bloom

Garden2

Every year a dedicated group of volunteers plant and maintain the community garden, plots and planters around the village, making it a beautiful place to stay or visit.

Young people in the village have also played their part – repainting the chimney pots in the community garden, planting and looking after their own personal sunflowers in the village park and planting 400 hedging plants round the perimeter of the park.

Their efforts, combined with those of householders around the village who every year ensure their front gardens are beautifully laid out and maintained, have ensured that ever since being awarded the Best Kept Small Village in 1977 the village has retained its status as one of the nicest small villages in the area and currently holds a Beautiful Fife Gold Award.
